President Danilo Medina attends the start-up of the PECASA Wind Farm, located in the province of Montecristi.
This installation includes 25 wind turbines, model G114 (Siemens-Gamesa) of unit power of 2 MW with a total of 50 MW.
The turbines of the PECASA Wind Farm are interconnected via a medium voltage network of 34.5 kV buried to the lift substation.
This substation, located near the town of El Copey, raises the voltage to 138 kV where it is interconnected to the ETED substation.
Wind farms such as PECASA contribute to the goal of the Government of the Dominican Republic in energy matters: satisfy needs, diversify matrix and increase production.
